QA Lead (m/f/d)

The Heidelpay Product organisation is growing rapidly and is looking for a full-time lead user experience designer who is obsessed with deeply understanding users and is interested in helping us to realise and build on the next stage in our product journey. You will need to have a strong understanding of the end-to-end user experience design process and know how to practically apply design thinking techniques. You will have the ability to design and confidently articulate user experiences and have the hands-on skills to translate business requirements into exciting new user experiences that will help enable Heidelpay’s unique product innovation roadmap and its hyperscale growth plans.

What you will do

  • Lead, manage and nurture QA engineers in a hands-on manner leading the QA Competency area (chapter) supporting our squad-based delivery model
  • Review and provide feedback on agile requirements documentation, release and sprint plans, functional designs, prototypes and technical designs
  • Define effective test strategies, test plans, test cases and coordinate testing activity
  • Lead the testing of human (UI) and computer (API) interfaces of new and current products to pinpoint deficiencies and suggest solutions
  • Design and implement test execution for speed, efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify QA process bottlenecks, recommend and implement improvements
  • Design and implement test automation scripts to focus tester attention on deeper and broader tests as a means to QA goals
  • Identify, track and report on lean QA metrics that align with product quality goals
  • Create test environments that closely mirror the end user’s experience
  • Create and manage test data to aid realistic test scenarios and to enable scalable testing
  • Develop with your team product acceptance test suites covering non-functional requirements relating to product stability, scalability, security, supportability, etc.
  • Work with customers, partners, product owners and your team to develop business acceptance tests
  • Provide test governance, test strategy, test planning and test execution direction and guidance across the engineering organisation for our planned product innovations
  • Nurture close working relationships with teams and individuals across engineering and product organisations and with other key stakeholders across wider heidelpay business
  • The tools you will work with include JIRA, Confluence, Subversion, Git, Gradle, Maven, Bamboo, Jenkins, browserstack, Postman, TestRail, ZAProxy, Selenium, Protractor, Jasmine, JMeter, SoapUI, TestLink, HipTest
  • You will contribute to the identification, understanding, evaluation and selection of new and emerging testing tools, practices and techniques that are aligned to heidelpay’s technology and IT application selection principles

Your profile

You should have

  • Strong and practical understanding of QA principles, concepts, methods & test strategies
  • Deep knowledge of QA processes
  • Wide hands-on experience with variety of testing techniques such as UI testing, API testing, automated testing, performance testing (load, stress & scalability) and test driven development (TDD)
  • Experience in test automation processes
  • Experience with broad range of test frameworks
  • Good understanding of technically complex systems, architectures, process flows through and across these systems and tech stacks
  • Mastery of a range of testing, test management, test automation, test documentation and logging tools e.g. Junit, browserstack, Postman, TestRail, ZAProxy, Selenium, Protractor, Jasmine, JMeter, SoapUI, TestLink, HipTest/CucumberStudio, TestCraft
  • Obsessive passion for finding functional and performance deficiencies and product defects
  • Intense focus on testing the end to end user experience and improving the testability of products
  • Passion for structured working, attention to detail and documenting things well
  • Thirst for staying up to date on the latest and emerging QA tools, products, methodologies, practices and techniques
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Good team management and staff development skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, delivery focused environment
  • Experience in agile working environments and scrum/lean work practices
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
Great if you have
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or other relevant discipline
  • ISTQB certification is an advantage
  • Experience in security testing processes, techniques and tools
  • Experience in quality assurance in fintech or an analogous regulated industry
  • Programming skills in Java, Python or Bash is an advantage
  • Experience in providing feedback on the capabilities, user friendliness and testability of existing products
  • Experience working in scaled agile environments using a squad delivery model and horizontal chapter/competency structure
